Presbyopia

Presbyopia (aging eyes) General Information.

The first clear signs that one may be experiencing the onset of  presbyopia are the inability to read fine print, especially in lower light conditions, a strain on the eyes when reading or concentrating for too long, and occasional blurry vision, especially when transition between viewing depths near to far.

It is common for presbyopia symptoms to be less noticeable in bright lights due to pupil constriction.

Presbyopia is quite easily corrected with eye glasses of increased prescription strength as a person ages. Bifocal or trifocal lenses may also be prescribed to some people who presbyopia who also are affected by other eye conditions such as myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness) or astigmatism (blurred vision due to a irregularly shaped cornea).
